So far in 2007, Kitengela Hot Glass have raised USD $2,400 (from the Xmas Trust) and these funds were used to give our local school, Oloosirkon Primary, the following:

a) Desks and chairs for 150 pupils
b) New and replacement windows
c) T-shirts and prizes for the nine winners of the school Clean-up Campaign

Kitengela Hot Glass have repaired their rainwater harvesting tank ($160) and during the month of December 07 we’ll be funding the planting of 300 tree seedlings, with assistance from the Youth Building Green Program ($535).

We have also paid the school fees for Samson Mbote from St Paul’s Orphanage to attend Oloitokitok Boys High School in Kajiado ($670).

The 278 pupils of our local Oloosirkon Primary School have no running water, few windows, no perimeter wall and very few exercise books. We are now trying to raise money for the wall and windows as the school is not developing due to lack of security and theft of school property. Wall building costs for the 12 acre perimeter is $5,000 and to replace/repair windows is $2,300. They also need additional pit latrines and another classroom (approx $5,300).
