Mr. John Keen whose wife is coming across. He is a Past Member of Parliament and owns the other side which is part of our Silole Sanctuary.
The Silole Sanctuary is an area of land within the environs of the city of Nairobi which, it is hoped, can be sustainably conserved in it's natural state, while generating income for the private owners whose land it is. The purpose for which the Silole Sanctuary has been created is to keep the area within its's boundaries an undeveloped as possible so as to protect the natural ecosystems which currently exist there in an relatively pristine state. The intention is to generate income through ecotourism to the protected area, primarily through provision of accommodation, but also from other activities.
