After a whirlwind two week trip to Holland, Anselm, Simon and Richard are safely back in Kenya with many tales to tell of their adventures. These included demonstrating for more than three thousand audience members at the Glass Centre, working in the Royal Leerdam Crystal factory and preparing for the Glass Jungle exhibition at the National Glass Museum in Leerdam. They worked with Bernard Heesen and Arnout Visser at Bernard's Oude Horn studio. They were featured several times in Dutch newspapers and TV - the main attraction being Richard, the only Masai glassblower in the world, blowing glass in his shuka (traditional masai dress).

>> THE OX (pic), sculpture for Ministry of communications, theme Proud to be Kenyan - Naji vunia kuwa MKenya, a 4m high glass map (Dalle de Verre) of Kenya and the Provinces with glass masks of the tribes .On Museum round - about In Process. The piece is ready but giving us a headache about installation. Anselm had idea about using the traditional crossed spears as balance and legs.
-
The Big Dalle de Verre Wall for Old Museum linked with New Museum, approx 5m x 6m. Here too as usual we are way behind, although all is agreed and a large scaffold put up. We are waiting for contractor to install frame to hold our large and heavy panel, he has been very tardy. Also no money has been seen which would really be helpful to buy materials. But Nani has been busy collecting fossils for part in the wall and the bench below.

-
St Maries Hospital 3 panels in big new wall, for next year.
This is complete and looking great. Not yet installed
awaiting architect's instructions.
