In the Dalle de Verre studio, a duo of skilled artisans are chopping, sorting and casting. Around the corner is the dalle furnace, fired up for the larger commissions. From this furnace are cast the varying shades and forms of Dalle glass blocks, used for making panels, tables, chairs and sculptures. Flat glass for the stained glass studio is also made here, using the custom made mangle, which squeezes a ‘chapati’ of glass from a hot gather. Special effects, ripples and streaks can be integrated, to customer requirements.
