Bushglass
here we invite some interested women artist each year to share making
glass and having fun. We explore new ideas and crazy thoughts, some
work, some dont. This year a fish was our theme, we all added bits
to this large monster and its admired by all.
Reachel
Wangari, born 1974 in Kiambu District Kenya. She has been
drawing since her childhood. After High School she did fine Arts
and graphics for 4 years. She then concentrated in graphic design.
In 2004 she started painting and has not looked back, except this
quick stint with glass at Kitengela Glass womens Bushglass;
She has been to various wokshops incl 2nd Naivasha international
workshop this year.
Urrently she is partime teaching Art at kenyatte national Hospital
sponsored by the Ramoma Project.
Carol,
born 1973 began her art interest in 1992 when she joined
Creative Art Centre College in Nairobi and graduated with a diploma
in Fine Arts in 1995. The she joined Kuona Trust Art Centre at National
Museum working there for one year.
Presently she is working at Go Donw Art Centre.She has a 5 yr old
daughter Colleen Naiyima. Her work is mainly in oils and some acrylics
on canvas. She likes to depict the Kenyans cultural life and landscapes.
She blends her figures with the African landscape into a fusion
of colours and abstract forms.
She is enjoying the use of glass and the freedom of a new medium
set in the pleasant rural environment of Kitengela Studios.
