The
Eco tower:
Nani bought a small beach house, built in the typical square colonial
style set in part of a denuded forest. After cleaning the rubble
which the tenant had left and encouraging the trees to return, painting
murals and smoothing corners, she was still not happy in the square
house and decided to build a tower to overlook the forest and see
the ocean as well as the creek. The tower is encircling a Doum palm
has few walls and lots of colour, glass, and wild ideas. A pond in
the kitchen which is used by the geese, shower and long-drop facility.
Next the tree room with hanging bed . The up to the next room with
terrace and view and another hanging bed. Then the top which one
day will be finished with the SKY bed. This will jut out over the
forest canopy but can be drawn in for the more squeazy types. There
is a toilet and a loft, and its windy, quite a relief in the hot
season. There is no lift and few banisters, so only people with
good sense for heights will like it here. Nani is working on the
wind power generated alternative energy.
